“Distorsis is a rock band. Plain and simple. Tunes and lyrics to make you believe… This is obviously a band of very passionate musicians that work well together to put together some music they really are into.”
- Big Rock Finish
Distorsis are a Canadian rock band formed summer 2006 by Eric Bridenbaker (Vocals, Guitars, Keyboards) Jeremy Elliott (Drums & Percussion), and Tim Melton (Bass) in Toronto, ON.
Distorsis’ self titled debut was released independently in 2007. Consisting of 7 highly fueled rock tracks, the record confirms Bridenbaker’s ability to deliver great songs. Distorsis recorded it entirely in their rehearsal facility at Cherry Beach Studios, Toronto. Bridenbaker also served engineer and producer.
After Tim Melton’s departure from the band in 2008, they regrouped in 2009 with the addition of Cam Bull (Guitar and Vocals) and Simon Elliott (Bass). Eric and Cam had previously played together in Toronto Rock band Plastic Bag (1999-2004) Along with his Staggered Crossing duties, Jeremy and his brother Simon play in The Buffalo Builders and with Singer/Songwriter Holly Andruchuk.
Distorsis are a first rate example of “music created by music fans, for music fans.” Exploring a world of sound and texture, floating melody through clouds of heavy guitars, and presenting it through a visually interesting media. Think “Rolling Thunder, Pouring Rain,”.. but really, just listen to the record… or better yet, watch them live!
